About The Artwork

Many times we want to keep everything as it is now and prevent the inexorable passage of time from harming our lives. But that never happens. Time will go by, and there will be events that will stay with us as if they were a direct impact on our memories. It's as if a small crack reveals what we are made of: a tangle of stories, emotions, and, above all, people who have followed different paths than ours. We can only observe how, just like in the universe, everything is expanding and moving further away. That's how life itself is, hazy and rushing hurriedly towards nowhere. Our mind travels the paths of the past and the future, while we remain motionless, and the memories fade away. *The artwork will be sent rolled in a plastic tube with its proper packaging, only the canvas without the wooden frame!

Carlos Jimenez finds his greatest source of inspiration in love and life. His observation of the lives that surround him, which transmit a spark to him, is the essential driving force that moves the artist to bring each work to fruition, using pieces of memories and his heart, sometimes broken, sometimes filled with unforgettable memories. His work is personal and very passionate, reflecting his sense of the search for a truth that may or may not exist. His philosophy is pragmatic, but with esoteric and passionate points of view about the meaning of life and the destiny of each person in the world. A little referenced to Albert Camus, Jimenez accepts the absurd and embraces it. To paraphrase Frédéric Beigbeder, he says, “My problem is that I don't believe in God, but I do believe in miracles.”
