About The Artwork

The inspiration is from the Pop art culture mixed with the motorcycles custom culture. La Mort in french means Death . This is a reflection about death inspired by Andy Warhol work, the beauty of the skull and the plot around. Everybody like it but we are all affaid about it. The fram is made of wood and it's a museum glass. The skull in in relief of 2 cm and print on top. The letters is also relief cut by milling machine. And the creation is in a fram with a museum glass. I use to do collage with paper cut, But now i also so do digital collage and i was thinking to creat 3d stuff to give another dimension in my work. so after searching a long time, i found the milling machine. Anthony Leblicq was born on August 7, 1973. Born to a Belgian father and an English mother, this self-taught artist was influenced from a young age by two strong cultures. Curious and sociable, his roots and the various encounters he has had over time allow him to enrich his artistic sense. His universe is inspired by the American culture of the 50s to 70s, for which he has a passion. His most important artistic influences are American Pop Art, Kustom Kulture, photography, collage, design, Instant Lettering, Customization and Comics. Not to mention his fascination for Harley Davidson. It is therefore not surprising to find among his favorite artists, people such as Andy Warhol or Banksy. His technique has evolved greatly over time. Focusing first on papiers collés, he then switches to digital art to return to his first love. From papiers collés, he then passes on to collage, combining elements of various natures. The end result? Apersonal technique: a subtle blend of collage and digital art reinforced by the use of 3D prints. Anthony Leblicq expresses himself in Black and White or two-tone compositions to which he often adds a color element to bring a touch of elegance and power to his paintings. Women with smooth curves, skulls with a piercing gaze, words that reinforce sober creations. Always original and surprising. A work that leaves no one indifferent and that invites to reflect.
