The original painting, (based on a photo by Bert Stern), in Acrylic, Airbrush with colored pencils and Stabillo Markers was an automatic method. I'd been painting large images as a billboard painter and theatre artist and my artwork and methods were an outgrowth of those periods in my life. I decided to create a new look for this piece by using digital filters, then pulling in other elements that made sense.
