About The Artwork
One of the things I love about doing these broken pottery (picassiette) works is that I never know what materials, collected over many years, will end up in them. The main ingredient here is raku pottery which was excavated @ The Shard Yard and Garden of Pensacola. The fish and other rounded pottery shards were given to me by a ceramic artist with whom I did some of my very first art shows with in New Orleans. The gold rimmed glasses came from my dear friend Kim's wedding tea set . . . and so on. Lots of history to ponder as I dig through collected treasures, turning the old into something new! 14" x 12" x 3", a variety of pottery/ceramic shards including antique Mexican and raku pottery, hand-built & manufactured ceramic, gold-leafed porcelain teacups, and glass on custom built substrate.
