About The Artwork

This is a fun painting. I am interested in Physics and the discoveries made by the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in Switzerland. The picture is meant to show the inside of the giant magnetic doughnut with a stream of particles heading towards the viewer. My sense of science humor was tickled and my explanation for the painting would be a comment from the janitor. It would be along the lines of "I was just giving it a bit of a dusting and I thought that was the light switch". It's pure fun, just a delight to look at and to see some fantasy engineering..

I am a retired teacher, a digital and acrylic flow artist whose home is by the sea in Brittany, France. The movement and colors of the sea influence much of my art although I am also drawn to the influences of the Art Deco period. Being born in the industrial heartland of the UK, I have vivid memories of the steel making industry. Times change and with decline of heavy industry comes the decay of the once proud structures associated with it. Urban decay influences my work as does the way nature reclaims what is hers.
