About The Artwork
Purple wants to be king and reign supreme, but the addition of orange creates a struggle for power and importance. The layout is an abstracted quarter log cabin quilt block, starting in the lower left, with the logs building out from that corner, and emphasizing the power struggle concept. Once the composition was pieced I layered it on the backing fabric, cotton batting, and wool batting, then stitched through all layers using closely placed organic stitched lines.
