About The Artwork
This work was inspired by a meditation exercise in which I saw a face floating in space with a universe surrounding it. I always start my pieces with light sketch drawings done with a pencil. I let my mind drift and then the pencil takes over. I start to see shapes within the light sketches and then begin to draw out more pronounced shapes that build up a full composition on the page. After the composition is established, I go in with a black ink pen and trace over the pencil markings. Finally, watercolors are applied to the piece.
