About The Artwork
This artwork is based on a photograph i made while exploring the freshly opened to public Beirut city center, after 15 years of being a no mans land due to raging war(s). One particular striking sight of a lonely group of derelict buildings oddly reminiscent of the famous "Isle of the dead" painting Arnold Böcklin inspired the title The artwork is made of two weathered rusty metal plates I assembled then scratched and etched with my favorite tool, a box cutter after adding a slight black spray paint veil
