About The Artwork
The Crown Imperial is a striking and unique flower that has captured the attention of many. Obtaining its name from a fascinating whorl of leaves on the top of bright orange or yellow, strikingly regal blooms that almost closely resemble a crown. They are said to be associated with the solar plexus chakra, which is responsible for a person’s self-esteem, personal power and sense of individuality. The yellow chakra, known as Manipura, is the energy that is found just above your navel (third chakra). Manipura, meaning 'jewels city', is our continuous source of power, self-confidence, sight, success, boundaries and willpower. Working with the solar plexus chakra helps us unlock deeper levels of authenticity in our lives and develop the confidence to stand in our truth.

Im a female artist from Cape Town, South Africa. I have been painting for the last 20 years, with no formal art education. My journey started with a box of Vintage Dress Patterns which was turned into a skirt on a metal wired Mannequin and from there to canvas. I have sold many pieces all over the world like Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Madagascar, San Francisco, New York etc. I have exhibited in London at the Art of Africa Gallery. Currently Im working with good old fashion Brown Paper and Vintage Navigation Charts. I only sketch woman and make use of pencils, charcoal and Acrylic paint.
