About The Artwork

The image came first, the words during the process... The image is from under a bridge I had seen a couple of months before in NYC... The image captivated me and decided to work from it and see what the experience could bring me... At the same time I was working on this painting I was trying to move on from bankruptcy... 5 years before I had gone broke with a digital media business, and I was at the moment of creating this painting, in the middle of negotiations with lawyers and my ex-partners... And from all that battle I got the phrase "Será Justicia" (It will be Justice) which is used at the end of every document sent to the court in charge of the case... After many years of putting everything I had in that startup, time, money, heart and even health, when I read these documents my lawyer handed me I repeated to myself, tiene que haber justicia (There has to be Justice)... In a sense of universal justice for all the effort I knew I had put... And finally.. connecting back with the image of being under the bridge I think it was quite appropriate to depict the moment I was in right then.... beautiful when my unconscious being speaks for myself.... no need to premeditate painting to much... just trust.... and do the work...

I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Started my journey in art attending to painting classes since I was 9 and never stopped from then. Although the path has been rocky many times, making art for me is a lighthouse that shines a light over my life and helps me try to understand where I am and where I am going. And if by chance I get to discover any answer or clue by doing my practice, not only it helps myself but it may also those who get in touch with my work and can resonate with its message. Messages that are not premeditated. Just felt in my heart and humbly transmitted. No mental concepts to call for assisted reflections. I think of my work as an opportunity to delve into a groove that transcends my existence. To navigate through it and be at the disposal of the unexpected, of the unknown, of everything that was, is and will be. A furrow of exploration of what surrounds me, of the visible and the invisible. The process, the experience and the uncertainty above the mental concept, above reaching a certain destination. And in the transit of experience, the findings. Findings that many times even transcend my ability to understand. Registered in each brushstroke, in each gesture, in each choice.
