About The Artwork

The "All Over" series is derived from my "Instant Sculptures" but dialed to eleven. The painterly action is all over the place. They surely are inspired by Mihály Csíkszentmihályi's concept of the FLOW: wikipedia: >In his seminal work, Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience, Csíkszentmihályi outlines his theory that people are happiest when they are in a state of flow—a state of concentration or complete absorption with the activity at hand and the situation. It is a state in which people are so involved in an activity that nothing else seems to matter.[14][page needed] The idea of flow is identical to the feeling of being in the zone or in the groove. The flow state is an optimal state of intrinsic motivation, where the person is fully immersed in what they are doing. < That is a pretty good summary of my state when working on these "All Overs". And it is my feeling that the paintings construct perculiar time-based spaces during this hour-long and nearly automatic process.

The Berlin artist Peter Sandhaus never restricted himself to the classic arts alone but extended his artistic work to divers fields like computer generated art, sculptural architecture, production design and public space development. Both his large scale public art projects (www.sandhaus.net) and his paintings are dealing with the concept of a curved space-time continuum. Many of the two-dimensional works can be understood as sketches to generate notions of dynamic sculptures under tension. These four-dimensional configurations often appear to be still in motion and might even start to move again - when you are not looking..
