This piece was done on a very old canvas. This is one of the first canvas' I ever tried to stretch on my own. I began an abstract piece in 2005 but then never finished it. 15 years later I decided to paint it. The subject matter became Audrey Hepburn. I painted acrylic on top of the original painting. The canvas itself is deep, almost 4". It is however not precise in it's dimensions all the way around. This was because I was still learning the craft of stretching canvas. So it is not a perfect square. I enjoyed this piece the was it is. Imperfect. It hangs beautifully the was it is. It is very human in that it isn't perfect. I like that.
