Details
This painting was inspired by the famous artwork of Lucas Hugensz. van Leyden "Los jugadores de cartas", which was made in the 1520 Year and representing three-person playing the card. I made this artwork with the same act, but the action takes place in 2020 and the main characters are distinctive with their characteristics and a modern dress style. I dressed them on the clothes of very famous brands for today and I used popular drinks and cigarettes to represent the time in that we are living now.
The artwork is made for the competition of the Museum Of Thyssen in Madrid in 2020, painted with acrylic on canvas.

Tamara Lortkipanidze is a Georgian artist based in Barcelona, Spain. She works in different styles with different materials depends on the periods of her life and her lifestyle. The influence of the post-soviet culture is felt in her works sometimes, expressed with pain or with some dramatic lines and details. In her works, we read some stories, overwhelmed with feelings and emotions. almost in every artwork, we see some details, about what we have to concentrate on. She expresses more the inner world in her paintings and is concentrated on the atmosphere and society, but she always uses some details to show the modern world in which we are living. Her paintings become the tools that explain the stories and express everything that makes her excited, annoyed, or depressed. That's why are her works, basically different from each other. " My art practice is discovering internal hidden sensations and express them all, in case of need, and the art grows us and gives us a strengthens and development like a person, like how we are growing and developing our art with time. She also works about women's sexuality topics.  In 2017 she published the handmade, silk printed artist book "EROTIC STORIES" featuring a collection of real and fictional stories and sketches inspired by them. " In our society, openly speaking about intimacy is an act of bravery itself. More often than not, not only the public but even private discussions about sex-related topics are taboo. It is also wart nothing that a big part of the general public sees women as a secondary character of sex. That what makes it so important to talk openly about the subject and convey the women's narrative of sexuality."
