An imaginary chair for when we need to rest from the hustle and bustle of life. A short break for body and soul. May we return with strength and joy as time passes.
My desire is to transmit to the viewer the feeling of peace and tranquility that you will find inside just when you need it most before the setbacks of life, if you know where to look for that longed for peace, and that is not elsewhere if not in our interior.
I chose the mixed technique for this work because the oil provided me with a way of working slowly which would then translate into a sense of tranquility and calmness, together with the white color of the last layer of texture. The work is done in several layers of color. The lower, barely visible contain all the information of color of the work and are covered by a last white layer of oil and spray. The graphite contours straight and forceful come to reinforce the idea of strength, security and strength. That is at the bottom of what is spoken in this work.

I am learning to explore and bring to light the darker side of my life experiences. Meanwhile I continue drawing the essence of those real or imagined landscapes that make me so happy because they help me get away from that darkness... I paint the darkness and draw the light, always from silence. © Mariano Luque Romero.
