ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Mixed Media on Board The sides are painted white. Wired for hanging with D-rings My latest work is the suggestion of impromptu street art. Sometimes a partially completed figure or portrait painting on layers of paint. The base is numerous layers of collage (vintage book pages, tissue and other collage) along with acrylic paint. The paint is sanded and peeled to reveal the layers beneath as if the figure was painted outside on a wall that has been exposed to environmental elements.

Though I studied art in college at Georgia State University and Otis College of Art & Design in Los Angeles, I am mostly self-taught. As an artist, everything to me is form, color, movement and balance. My inspiration comes from all mediums: books, videos, film, nature, my dreams and thoughts in my quiet moments. Painting was the natural progression from drawing. I work on both small and large scale canvases, creating both abstract and figurative works.
