A Girl From My Home Town Painting

In the past decade, the global refugee population has more than doubled. According to the UNHCR, over 84 million people worldwide have been forced to flee their homes. Among them are over 26.6 million refugees, marking the highest population on record. Sixty-eight percent of the world's refugees come from just five countries. I have decided to utilize my art to advocate for those who haven't had the opportunity to express themselves. These individuals, who have experienced profound hardships, were not embarking on travels for pleasure or leisure. Instead, their journeys were marked by fear and uncertainty about the future. This inspiration led me to create a painting depicting the story of a young Palestinian girl refugee. She, along with her family, had to leave Palestine, and in the process, lost all her rights to return to her home. This artwork aims to shed light on the poignant experiences of those who have endured the challenges of displacement.
