About The Artwork

The beauty of the natural world has long been where many find a connection to meaning and depth. Botanical forms in particular reveal the wonder and awe one may encounter in life. Mystics have said the every leaf is a page of the sacred text called the Book of Life. Elements of the design, color, fragrance, and sheer magnitude of variation of plants fuel my investigation in my studio practice. In addition, the roles of plants as medicine and nourishment for the physical body as well as deeper aspects of our beings furthers my inquiries. The paintings reveal contemplative interior spaces, and create an atmosphere in which one may experience a state of revitalization, and restoration. Here the ordinary is made extraordinary, reminding us that all we see is imbued with the divine.
