A Mother's Protest Painting

The pink graffiti mark is there as if to say, "No, I don't accept this mother body, where rolls appear from a stretched out stomach after a pregnancy, and boobs are deflated and saggy from months of breastfeeding. I don't want to know that milk still comes from your breasts even when you haven't breastfed in over two years. I don't want to know that you can't do jumping jack's or run without a tampon, because giving birth was so physically aggressive that you had a huge perineal tear. So it never properly healed and urine comes out when you exert too much force for extended periods of time. Leave that body at home. That body isn't sexy." But yet all of us came from a mother and most never really understand what it means to be birthed. After giving birth to my daughter, my body changed. This was/is a body that isn't deemed sexy or beautiful. This is my protest to that unrealistic standard.
