About The Artwork

In the era of Naser al-Din Shah Qajar, it was the time for exploring the west's culture by Shah, which was called " Farang ". In the first travel of Naser al-Din shah to "France", he got intrested to Balerinas and the way they wore short skirts, so he gave some short skirts and short socks -that was an innovation those days for Shah- for his Harem as "Tohfe" which means gift. As that day in iran tailors started making short skirts with persian silks and wool in their own way, which is flowerful. In this artwork you can see A Page of History, that shows a Qajar woman sitting in the palace, wearing the short socks and short skirt gifted by the Shah.

I was born in Tabriz, Iran, in 1970, and my journey with art began the moment I first held a pencil in my hand. As a female painter in Iran, I faced challenges in establishing my presence in the art world. However, my passion for art led me to start teaching at the Iranian Red Crescent Society when I was just 20 years old. Upon relocating to Turkey, I found a renewed focus on my art, allowing me to express myself more authentically. My fascination with old Persian motifs and historical symbols deeply influences my work, leaving a distinctive mark on my artistic creations. For me, painting is not just a skill; it is a means of expressing my emotions, and colors serve as the purest forms of my inner feelings. My portrait works, in particular, emerge from a profound connection with the character of my subjects. Through these portraits, my art engages in a dialogue, speaking both about myself and the very essence of the subject.
