About The Artwork
This dearly beloved plant, named Wilson by my daughter after how the character in Castaway named his soccer ball that he talked to, is sadly no longer with us. This painting was created over time, using the many layered glazing process that I was working with at the time I started it months ago. I finished it today, having finally figured out what I wanted to change to make it complete. I re-did the shadows behind the plant. I wanted to capture the grey to white scheme and the light in the kitchen. The reason Wilson is no longer with us is that I always kill all my plants. I have a black thumb it seems!
