About The Artwork
The painting is an homage to the great Hungarian painter, Vaszary Janos. He was influenced by Post-Impressionism, Art Nouveau and the Fauvists and a recurring scene in his paintings is the promenade along the Danube. This artwork shows a lovely scene - people sitting and talking by the river, others walking or just studying the advertisements on the wall. The contrast between the purple river and the buildings and the colorful scene in the foreground makes the painting fresh and lively.
