About The Artwork

Born in the city of Vitória in Brazil and with a degree in Social Communication Advertising and Propaganda, Dani Micóids has been very curious about art since she was very young. She has spent the last 10 years working as a freelance photographer (maternal and childbirth photography), however has recently returned to the other fields of the visual arts. As an audiovisual artist, he has worked in different areas, mixing still photography, production, editing and direction. He currently investigates independently, and seeks to establish in his arts, social issues in themes such as racism, decoloniality, African diaspora, marginal culture. Her work in this collection expresses the beauty, power and empowerment of black people, while showing the conflicts arising from social roles. Dani believes that placing art in favor of important discussions for our society is fundamental for combating racism and reducing inequalities that keep the black population away from citizenship and, consequently, from culture.
