A battle lost Painting

This piece is inspired by my ongoing battle with mental illness, i suffer from depression and a less severe case of agoraphobia. Most days i feel very much locked inside my head, battling the "dark" side of me, some days i win but more often than not i lose. this depicts the days the darkness wins. i usually use acrylics due to the fast drying times, when i paint with oil i tend to overthink everything but with acrylics i'm more free. If a painting comes out different than i had imagined i just simply continue until it makes sense to me. every single painting i've done has been a complete mental battle, upon finishing i throw them in my closet for a few days until i relax then revisit it and determine whether or not i still hate it and want to destroy it.
