About The Artwork

"A garden with bees", 2017, oil on canvas, 55x70 cm. From the series of garden abstractions inspired by childhood with a backyard apiary and horrific expeditions to strawberries. It is a work from a series that was created by painting the previous artwork. The last layer is abstract. It is a farewell to painting that did not stand the test of time. That is why on the back there is a painted old signature. I do not want to remember the previous layer. The abstract layer is the most important.

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I move between different styles, combining abstraction with figuration. Concerning themes and my color palette, I have no restrictions, with one exception: I avoid dramatism in depicted situations. Only the scale between extensive backgrounds and minor human figures or vehicles is constant. I am inspired by Dutch painting, especially by Peter Breughel. I like to think of my paintings as a kind of poetry without words. http://www.artminnow.com/index.php/2017/04/14/a-conversation-with-grazyna-smalej/
