A home for the Robins Painting

I like to work intuitively. I did not have a direction when I started this piece. After I chose the two main colors of ruby red and chinese blue, I used a stencil on wet paint and rubbed away paint through the stencil creating a reverse image. The colors inspired vibrant line work and organic shapes as well. The nest on the right side is a natural extension of the floral shapes. The colors and shapes create a path through the work and lead back to the markmaking which highlight the focal area on the left side. When I create without an end result in mind the piece tends to lead itself by each step. I love where this one lead to. My favorite aspect is all the pops of red. I hope the viewer enjoys all the shades of red present and the journey they create.
