About The Artwork

I first did a painting called Night city Scape , in colors using the same technique with Airbrush and palette knife. I enjoyed the process so I thought an opposite would be good and I think the result was worth the effort. It is textured, has depth and I love the color's and even though I created it, I still see different things in the painting

The conflicts of the 21st Century world are the subject of Mr.Anthona Diaz paintings. The artist sees himself as “an observer and critic “and his detailed painting the destruction of nature and the collapse of traditional ways of life that portray society and political injustices, cultural conflict and pressure which modern life demands of us. In his paintings, objects and people from different eras and levels of existence are brought together in scenes to take place outside any average conception of time. The inner world of dreams and cultural memory is made to contend with a dystopian environment that threatens to overwhelm it. Working in oils on canvas, he used the rich tones that oils provide to give his painting a strong physical presence. That presence is enhanced by his skill rendering lifelike figure and his sharp eye for manipulating proportion and scale, which often creates a sense of threat or uncertainty. The resulting works transform standard motions of realism into uniquely expressive form “I try to beyond the borders- language, religions or traditions “He say his paintings realize that goal. He work primarily in an abstract, minimalist mode, with a preference for the rigors of an austere palette of black and white. His work frequently includes dynamic, sweeping brushstrokes of acrylic paint or black ink on canvas that characterize much of my art. It’s often noted that my paintings convey a controlled but dynamic sense of movement. Many paintings take shape while his semi-asleep. When he awake, the painting is usually close to being finished. Then he go into the studio and put his ideas on canvas or paper. The brush and flow find their way onto the surface. Mistakes or accidents often turn out to be fortuitous and usually remain. Although much of his work is abstract, His creative range is wide. He will from time to time revert to the realism in which he was trained as a young art student in SL, sometimes inserting realism into semi-abstract backgrounds, sometimes capturing the human figure in a series of nude drawings. His watercolors are executed in hues of brilliant color and are quite playful. His limited edition prints, from a series called ‘Attitudes’, are highly suggestive of figurative art and influenced by European Calligraphy. No matter how many paintings he have completed, every painting is still an experiment to him. He don’t want to know how my painting will end.
