This artwork is panted alla prima, no pencil or charcoal sketching is done, and thick paint is mixed on the canvas, avoiding any mixing on the palette. What this archives is a highly saturated and abstract expressions painting. Far more interesting in texture and colours juxtaposed take and give to the other colour laid next to it. It's truly exciting to paint which removes any stiffness and academic restrictions with every brush stroke made to count and express the contour of the face breathing live and accidental likeness which was not my priority.
