About The Artwork

The work is about human Parasitism. There are tall palm trees which are called wax palms—grow as tall as 200 feet. the Parasitic plant which gets luxury of moisture in the air and the sunlight and it takes nutrients from the host which is the palm tree. these plants cannot exist without a host tree but it is abusing it too by draining all nutrients. it is similar to the visual in the background. The large hole in the artwork is Kimberlite Diamond mine one of the larger man-made excavated holes in the world. It is an enormous open-pit and is located in the old Yakut Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, now Eastern Siberia. Diamonds are a sign of luxury. for which the host is abused. as a result, ultimately it becomes a challenge to our existence itself. This artwork is a reminder to the abuse we do to our host (earth) for our own luxury.
