About The Artwork

Inspired by the painting of Jheronimus Bosch (The deadly sins) I made a series of the 7 individuel sins and positioned the deadly sin and its corresponding virtue in the same painting. This painting shows the sin: Acedia (Sloth) and its opposite Industria (Persistence). Sloth is symbolized by a sloth sitting in a chair. Persistence is symbolized by Mandela looking ouside a prison window keeping the faith that he could make a difference in apartheid. The viewer of the painting has the choice on what side of the dividing line are you: Living a life like a sloth or keep putting effort in the good cause.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

Since 2008, Natascha Göbel has been working on her own style as realist painter. She got inspired by the great works of Rembrandt, Vermeer and Lievens. Natascha attempts to catch life and living emotions in her paintings. Wether a portrait, a still live or a landscape, the elementary question remains: "How can I make an intimate picture that creates chemistry between viewer and painting which eventually results in the painting becoming truely alive in the eyes of the beholder."
