Created on two 100x150 cm separate canvases (price is for both, for shipping purposes the painting listing says 100 x 150 to allow calculating delivery costs based on that), this piece is the new spin on Paper planes series bringing together more story line and dynamics. The 'skin colours' dominating this canvas are intended to make outer space closer to inner space. Turning the hostile environment into something, well, human ....

The story line unravels around the modern means of taking us places: planes, trike, wooden horses.... these are illusions of reaching destinations. They refer to our unquanchable thirst to develop new means to trick our brains to disguise the fact that people have to get on the ground and do the act (pushing the pedalless trike, walk the wooden horse, throw the plane...). This artwork is my illustration of how curiosity beats the laziness. How seeing the world with the eyes of a child can turn cold and dangerous outer space into the world full of fun and exciting discoveries.

Yuliya artistic talents started to forge from a really early age as she spent hours in the after school classes experimenting with media and receiving classical art training. She grew up between the leafy hills and lakes of Northern Kazakhstan and industrial Caspian coast town where she was born in 1980. In turbulent times of post Soviet collapse her future was decided in favour of law studies. So artistic development had to be slowed down. Only 15 years later Yuliya was able to return to art looking for meaningful engagement. Since 2015,  she showed her work as independent and with the gallery, was part of international established art fairs and shown with alternative gallery spaces.  Her work is well sold on all the major online platforms and found its way to movie sets (Marvel for Doctor Strange 2016, ABC for Scandal, 2017), have been shown in members clubs, stylish London hotels and fine dining venues, acquired by interior designers for yachts, cruise liner, international resorts and held in private collections world wide. Yuliya is known for developing collections filled with elegant flow and ethereal glow. She explores idea of fragility and strength in her sky scapes,  isolation at sea in dreamy sail boats coastal series, urban crowd dynamics in Connected works on paper and most recently cyclical nature of florals in her 2024 Blossom collection. With each of them focusing on delivering a dreamy side of an elemental realm, the body of works at large filled with weight free emotion effortlessly filling the viewer with light nostalgia. fall involve with me on instagram: @y_martynova_ where i show my life, my work, my beautiful house, daughter and occasionally a hiding hubby
