About The Artwork
The artist behind DMC illustrations is Daisy. She works with pen and watercolour. Each illustration is the culmination of several hours of ‘research’ drawings where she studies each animal to understand how it moves. This is followed by working out the jigsaw puzzle of how all these animals are going to sit together in a composition that is satisfying. It is important the animals are balanced in perfect equilibrium. The ecosystems of the world do not exist in isolation, each one effects the other. We are all in a perpetual balancing act. The paper is heavy weight watercolour that has been stretched prior to painting. It has a beautifully textured surface.
