About The Artwork

Presenting a dreamlike view of a rolling luminescent wave, moving past to obscure the promise of land in the distance. Abstract geometric shapes to the left hint at a sailing vessel contrasted with turbulent ocean spray. (Solid wood and linen canvas, textured acrylic paint and fine polish, professionally framed in ornate pine)

Scottish artist David Scott Cooper is renowned for creating challenging artwork showcasing the uniquely beautiful panoramic land, sea and skyscapes of Scotland and it’s countryside. In attention grabbing contrasts of colour, texture, and art style, we see structures co-existing with nature and the environment. Expressively textured illuminated backdrops are made alive with backlit abstract inclusions. Light and shadow plays within the ethereal and the concrete, highlighting the iridescent colours, geometric composition, and kinetic flow between elements and infrastructure unique to Scotland. David Scott Cooper Graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 2005 with a B.A (Honours) Fine art Degree, majored in Sculpture. Currently working as a banking adviser in Glasgow city, most weekends spent hiking near the famous Scots West Highland Way. This has been inspirational in creating the collection I am proud to present today. The fourth generation of the Cooper family to formally attend Glasgow School of Art. David's Great Grandmother worked in watercolour. His Grandfather was a painter who broke his study to become a Captain during WWII, and latterly became an art teacher. David's Mother also attended Glasgow School of art as a painter, completing a life long career in art teaching.
