Step into the whimsical world of an enchanting oil painting that navigates the age-old question of whether the chicken or the egg came first. Two wise men, clad in old-fashioned attire, engage in a lively discussion, their faces animated with contemplation. In the background, an intriguing third character adds a touch of humor to the scene. Carrying a basket of eggs and unabashedly enjoying a chicken thigh, he seems blissfully unaware of the philosophical quandary unfolding before him. His actions playfully highlight the absurdity of the debate. Foregrounding the canvas is a chicken that has laid an egg, a living testament to the cyclical nature of life's mysteries. The egg-shaped moon in the sky adds a surreal touch, casting a dreamlike atmosphere over the entire composition. The rich, warm tones and meticulous details of the oil painting bring each character to life, allowing the viewer to explore the layers of narrative woven into the scene. This oil painting invites contemplation on the interconnectedness of life, the humor in our philosophical pursuits, and the delightful mysteries that make our journey so endlessly intriguing.

I am an artist, a monumental painter from Ukraine, temporarily living in Krakow, Poland. Born in Ukraine, in 1963. After graduating (Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts Department of Monumental Painting) works on the wall painting in the Orthodox churches of the Kharkiv diocese, Borispol, Cherkasy, Ukraine. "Mykola Dzvonyk has a peculiar manner of the artist, which is based on the traditions of "old painting", which appeals to the best examples of a painting of past eras, in particular the Northern Renaissance. Within Cherkasy, the artist creates works that are timeless and global in content." (Magazine, Prostir. Museum, Ukraine)
