“Alicubi Inter” is something I often wonder about. Is there somewhere in between? Finding a title for this piece was a challenge because the composition is something entirely abstract plucked from the right side of my brain over the past couple of weeks. I am finally happy with the piece and ready to send it off to it’s new owner. I simply can’t capture all the texture and layered hues on this piece with my iPhone. There are between 10-15 washes, heavy layering and blended softer saturated colors to counter each other and create a rather bold work. This is certainly a “look at me” piece. Would be a stellar focal point to any room needing a palette to start a new decor, an office that needs something to set it apart or lift the spirits of those residing in the cubes? I am going to hang it over my dining table tomorrow and will take some photos of what it looks like in a small space. My dining area is cozy. That’s the best way I can describe it. At our home, it’s all about the food, but having beautiful art to eat with really does enhance the experience. It’s also a great chance to add color to an otherwise unremarkable room. Our home is so dark in the colder months in Northern Michigan and I find that having colorful art really helps lighten up the space and make it happy while we await the sun to return….

I’m a self-taught artist and paint-slinger. I work in acrylic, watercolor, ink, and oil on paper and canvas. In 2020, my primary studio moved to Traverse City, Michigan. We simply needed to slow down and focus on living more deliberately. As a blessed wife and mom to four wonderful kiddos, I never lack for inspiration. My work continues to morph and evolve and I rarely stay in one original style for too long. An occupational hazard for certain— But, life is too short to get stuck and stay there.
