How to materialize the essence of being in visual art is a centuries-old desire to which Emil Kadiric also adds his voice. His figurative paintings, at first glance without much of a narrative, nevertheless challenge the viewer to decode them and understand the message addressed to him. Because "there is no such thing as a good picture of anything", so the two new works by Kadiric speak about something. At first glance, the viewer is presented with two images of a seated female figure in a meditative position, with certain symbols floating above her hands. However, the body costumes – one radiant white, the other black – place these figures in a technological future, while the golden masks covering the upper half of their faces evoke a ritualized past. The floating attributes above their hands symbolize the elusive spatial and material relations that make up man's environment, both immediate and beyond. These figures, being two images of opposites, actually overlap, merge and take root in the only time that exists: in the time here and now. Portraying a moment of tranquility, Emil Kadiric with his new paintings pointed out the essential need of man to calmly face all the insufficient knowledge, with all the doubts about his finitude, with the fears that arise before unexplored paths. Kadiric's figures in which, in his words, "moment and duration merge", free us from the pressure to surrender to one or the other. Impeccably crafted, these paintings bear witness to the phenomenon of an artistic consistency, to an author who remains faithful to his chosen medium and persistently pushes its boundaries so that he can use it to include everything he considers relevant for expression in the picture.
