About The Artwork

The question is what consequences does glacier melt have on our environment, on our flora and fauna, what does it contribute, what, how and who can influence it to avoid catastrophe? The singing group and the alphorn players symbolize a lot of talk about this. On the front panel is the woman with an anchor, the symbol of hope. Now she carries it all alone. How can we influence the majority to act more consciously, to understand that it is in our common interest to care for our environment? What is happening, and who if not us, to our planet, to our country? What will we leave to our descendants?

Painting fills my life with meaning and harmony. I work primarily in oil on canvas, using a combination of thick impasto and delicate glazes to create depth and luminosity in my work. I explor the theme of human identity and the search for self-discovery. Depending on my state of mind, I paint in lyrical-symbolism or exspressiv - inspired by the natural world’s beauty, history and mythology. My paintings celebrate color, form, and texture and meditate on the relationship between light, shadow, and atmosphere. They are a reflection of the struggles, triumphs, and ambiguities that are part of the human experience, and they are an invitation to the viewer to reflect on their own lives and experiences. I see art in everything - in clouds, how they change shape and colors depending on the weather, day or season, just like flowers and trees, whether they are there with blossoms and leaves or are waiting for spring in a relaxing sleep, in playing children, in an older woman who is picking yellow flowers in her garden, in an elderly person who is feeding the black cat with white spots next to the stairs from the blue plate, and maybe in you. Through my work, I hope to evoke a sense of wonder and awe and to invite the viewer to consider the beauty and complexity of the world around us.
