About The Artwork

In the Big Bend of Zion Canyon in Utah is the famous Angels Landing hike. At the summit of this 5,790 foot spectacularly dangerous hike is a 360-degree panorama of rugged spires and towering walls. Even the Piñon pines cling with twisted desperation to jagged rocks, sinking their roots into anything that will give an anchor against the wind. For mere mortals this hike is both terrifying and exhilarating, with narrow paths, spectacular drops and slippery rocks that leave no margin for error. This hike is certainly not for the faint hearted or for those with a fear of heights. Local people say that only the angels can hike this trail without fear. Eagles of course are an exception, they soar without fear of the towering rock walls that too often end the lives of other creatures.

Ken Church is full time professional artist from York, England. Primarily interested in large canvas acrylic paintings of wildlife and nature. Essentially realistic his paintings are in a modern style of bold brush strokes, bright colors and luminous patterns of light. The subject matter of his work is a platform to explore the camouflaging effect of light and color that blend together in a tapestry of animal and fauna. The spirit of his work serves to draw attention to the majesty and beauty of wildlife on our planet and the need for preservation and restoration of their habitat. Church began his career as a very prolific full time artist in June of 2015 after a long career as a Creative Director in several advertising agencies. His paintings began to sell immediately on-line at saatchiart.com and on fineartamerica.com. Several paintings are on display in commercial office buildings and in private collections.
