Andromeda Painting

This body of work is a 4 years long reflection upon femininity. The first part of the project, called the “first chapter” is a collection of photographs taken in the past 3 years in London, UK and recently painted in Mexico to create a differed new connection with the subjects and their stories. The main part of the project is a series of 9 large scale hand painted photographs of Mexican women of different age and social classes the artist met and photographed in her time in Oaxaca. The artist is obsessed with the idea of creating eternal icons using normal people as models . The naked body represents the essence and the magic of every women. The flowers , the fruits, the leafs represent life and the power of creation - metaphor of femininity and it’s capacity of making.
