About The Artwork
This painting is framed and is wired for hanging. The dimensions I listed on this site is for the image within the frame, and does not take into account the dimensions of the frame itself. There is a tiny chip on the top right, bottom right, and bottom left corners of the frame. The actual dimensions of the frame are 22.5 x 28.5 x 1 inches. I was inspired to paint this image based on a photo I captured, of an elderly lady sitting in a meditative state on a bench, catching her daily dosage of sunshine, on a beautiful day in Orebro, Sweden. I believe this reminds the viewer of each of our mothers and grandmothers, whom we cherish and appreciate being in our lives. I chose the name of the painting to be "Angie's Corner," because the name of Angie is similar to the name Angel, which represents the people who are dear to us, as being like powerful angels, who guide and direct us, especially our motherly figures in our lives. Oil on canvas has always been my chosen medium, since I was inspired by my master art teacher Monique Baudaux to follow this artistic path since the 1990s. My style is impressionist. Many have stated that my paintings remind them of a combination of Monet and Renoir. This is no coincidence, since I highly admire their work and style.
