Angry C Painting

I love the ocean. I paint water, be it the ocean, a beach, lake scene, rivers....I enjoy capturing the movement and wide range of colors that come from painting water and the landscape around it. Creating abstract works that come from ideas and visions of the ocean and waves are challenging. This larger piece started a bit more subtle with an underpainting of orange. The initial design had five "rings" across the middle but after blocking in the upper section I didn't like where it was headed. A few dynamic brushstrokes of aquas and blues started to reveal a feeling of a large wave. The ones you might see out in the middle of the ocean. The dark blues and blacks are met with the brilliant whites that were applied with aggressive brushwork. You can see that. And maybe understand the feeling behind the name, Angry C.
