Another Aivazovsky Wannabe Painting

Being a genius of his time Ivan Aivazovsky inspired many artists and introduced the world to his original techniques in marine art. In the presented oil painting Kirill briefly explored Aivazovsky’s style in search of a connection with the thoughts and emotions of his compatriot. The visual outcome is not as relevant as the message presented in the process. Originality is an extremely powerful phenomenon and trying to simply be inspired, without copying it or becoming a follower is not easy. Creating original art, working with your own mind is hard and at times quite frustrating, but much more rewarding than taking something “off of the shelf”. The threshold of originality, though, remains somewhat mystical and amusing to further explore.
