About The Artwork

Title: Anthropocene - Age of Humanity ( 101-2017) Format: 70cm x 85cm ( 27,55“ x 33,46“) Style: Visionary Realism Material: collage, mixed technique on Cornwall watercolor cardboard Technique: I created the skyline of a retort city as a collage of wrapping paper, corrugated cardboard and newspaper strips of paper. The red acrylic color in the lower third stands as a synonym bubbling lava among us! The ocher-colored areas conquer themselves - as desert sand - the lands back again. A touch of vegetation simulates the greenish shimmering color in the background. The separated letters on the picture A N T H R O P O Z Ä N were cut from paper and glued on. "Big Brother ... made of pale blue, pupil-like elements, symbolizes our constant surveillance ... is watching you!" To visualize the instability of the subsoil of this huge city - on which it was built - I outlined the building outlines with the help of oil pastels and shapes. The buildings seem to waver. Theme: Humans have been sitting on a powder keg since commemoration. The earth's crust shifts incessantly. Due to the displacement of the tectonic plates earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions occur. Opposite is the madness of underground nuclear tests. Building other planned cities (colloquial, called retort city). Coal mining continues to be promoted, such as the landfill of sand and another human dream: Water the desert! It will turn into a land of lush fields and flourishing villages! "Where milk and honey flow." A nightmare! The wells dry up. Soils stain. Fields wither. Abandoned oases. The desert returns, faster than expected, planned. Escape is announced again. The sea level is rising. Will there soon be no room left on earth for us humans? Included in the delivery: The original Artwork is hand signed on Cardboard 370 mg and mounted on a chipboard panel. The painting will be delivered with frame and a certificate of authenticity. Size: 70 cm x 85 cm ( 27,55“ x 33,46“) Ready to hang with a profesionell hanger on the back. The size with wooden frame is 77 cm x 92 cm (30.31 "x 36.22")

Born 1959 in Duesseldorf, Germany In 1996, my exploration of abstract and figural painting and in-depth studies began various academies at home and abroad. In 2009 I moved to Little Rock, Arkansas / USA and since then, painting has become my creative center, another form of life as a freelance artist. My current themes emerge from daily life. Experienced, dreamy situations captivate me and want to be implemented in various variations of collage, assemblage and painting. Current events and a look into the future bring exciting things to light. In Little Rock, Arkansas and Miami, Florida / USA I have been able to present my pictures in numerous group / charity exhibitions. At the end of 2012 I returned to Germany, since then I live in Bad Aibling and have a studio in Pullach near Bad Aibling. 2013 Beginning of an intensive art study at the Leonardo Art Academy Salzburg / Austria with successfully completed masterclass in November 2017 with Prof. Hannes Baier. I experiment with many materials: e.g. Shoe polish, dishwashing liquid, wax, flour, semolina, curd, egg also in combination with casein, resin-oil mixtures, paste, all kinds of colors in the form of pigments, chalks, oil pastel pencils, gouache, acrylic, ink, sand, varnish, stain or smalt , The accumulation of various liquids often leads to unpredictable effects, which are not achieved by the structure of a brush or paint knife. This makes the use of these techniques and materials so irresistible. Different expression variants are achieved due to the painting style.
