Title: Anthropocene - Age of Humanity ( 101-2017) Format: 70cm x 85cm ( 27,55“ x 33,46“) Style: Visionary Realism Material: collage, mixed technique on Cornwall watercolor cardboard Technique: I created the skyline of a retort city as a collage of wrapping paper, corrugated cardboard and newspaper strips of paper. The red acrylic color in the lower third stands as a synonym bubbling lava among us! The ocher-colored areas conquer themselves - as desert sand - the lands back again. A touch of vegetation simulates the greenish shimmering color in the background. The separated letters on the picture A N T H R O P O Z Ä N were cut from paper and glued on. "Big Brother ... made of pale blue, pupil-like elements, symbolizes our constant surveillance ... is watching you!" To visualize the instability of the subsoil of this huge city - on which it was built - I outlined the building outlines with the help of oil pastels and shapes. The buildings seem to waver. Theme: Humans have been sitting on a powder keg since commemoration. The earth's crust shifts incessantly. Due to the displacement of the tectonic plates earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions occur. Opposite is the madness of underground nuclear tests. Building other planned cities (colloquial, called retort city). Coal mining continues to be promoted, such as the landfill of sand and another human dream: Water the desert! It will turn into a land of lush fields and flourishing villages! "Where milk and honey flow." A nightmare! The wells dry up. Soils stain. Fields wither. Abandoned oases. The desert returns, faster than expected, planned. Escape is announced again. The sea level is rising. Will there soon be no room left on earth for us humans?
