Painting, Oil on Canvas
Size: 36 W x 24 H x 1 D in
Ships in a Box
The painting depicts a mountainous landscape with a hint of life and human form contained therein. This is fourth work from a series, inspired by Nature and with the realisation that the nature is as much a living entity as any, requiring thoughtful handling and sensitivity. The series is meant to convey a message of environmental conservation, but more as a positive inducement, rather than stark warnings of dire consequences. The work is executed in the Artist's characteristic Rhythmic style. The aim of the painting is to make the viewer more sensitive to the beauty of nature, and the need for careful conservation of the same, not only as a governmental action plan, but also at the level of each individual, globally. As the environmental concerns are mounting globally, this is the Artist's contribution to the global awareness campaign for the cause.

I have been credited by art critics with having created an unique style - school of painting, called “Rhythmism”, manifesting harmony in tones, lines and forms. To me, the paintings are nothing but poetry - in an alternate medium. My works are embodiment of composite Indian culture, relying on, and drawing inspiration from, traditional Indian thought. I am deeply inspired by great masters like MF Hussain, Claude Monet and Vincent Vangogh, besides classical Indian music maestros like Pt Ravi Shankar and Ustaad Bismillah Khan. I believe in art working for upliftment of humanity in general and like my art to spread a sense of positivity, harmony and happiness across the globe. I use a canvas to express my thoughts on variety of subjects- music and dance, life and social harmony, environment and development, poetry and prose.
