ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This mixed media painting is inspired by ancient cities, mythological gardens and tales, and a rise and decline of civilizations. I wanted to achieve a feeling of touching a distressed wall of a building that has seen generations of owners - memories of them exist in fragments and partially obliterated signs on the wall. I used stucco, cement, plaster, oil, acrylic, ink, watercolour and pastel in this work. The painting is sealed with many layers of matte acrylic gel.
