About The Artwork

This work grew out of experimentation with studio process', the starting point is drawn from my long term project - Gwendraeth House, where the domestic home becomes a resource and inspiration for artwork. Where the differing striped back wall textures and wallpaper become sources of inspiration and transformation, where ideas of time, generational memory and transformation are explored through creative and imaginative interaction. Within these works i'm interested in texture, abstraction and subdued tonal qualities, where the overall effect is the suggestion of the border between form and formless. The artwork becomes a meditative point of contemplation. The textures and the subdued colours have a dynamic quality which changes in relation to the changing qualities of natural light.
