About The Artwork
This is a painting of lightning striking the water and opening up a path to a higher level of existence. The big waves of the Atlantic ocean are held back as steps begin to form to show the way. It is a thought provoking image as we sometimes question what we are here for on this earth. It has been awhile since I have worked regularly with oils but a little practice and the skills came back. This piece was a challenge at first but when I realized that a few of the colors were off, I fixed them and the rest fell into place.
