Aura Painting

I was inspired by the colors of Van Gogh's paintings and decided to channel my energy into the core of this painting. Aura is essentially my vision of the landscapes that we quickly pass by everyday on the highways. Its textures and lights give off its own aura, which is inviting and warm. Despite most of the colors are on the cooler side, I was inspired to make this warm and inviting for everyone to see. I would hope viewers take away a calmness and meditative feeling while viewing this painting. I was relatively calm when I created this, and it does show within the painting. There's a lot of texture that catches my eyes, and the rhythm is created by the texture. I have chosen oil paint with a palette knife for this particular painting because it is an unusual style that I have not experimented with in a long time. I love bringing the texture in my paintings to a pleasing level, and I felt that the highways passing by would help the texture grow more. The colors combined with this help create rhythm, and the repetitive strokes with the knife create this unusual, but beautiful iridescence.
