The painting is my concise reflection of the concept of the will, conveyed through color. At the center of the canvas, there is a yellow beam of light representing will that pierces through the darkness. Surrounding it are other colors that symbolize this process: red represents the grim bloody price, brown represents the land soaked in blood, violet and ultramarine represent the depths of despair. The painting portrays the centuries-long struggle of the Ukrainian people for freedom and their resistance against the Moscow doctrine of oppression.
