About The Artwork

In my collection "Awakening from the Moment: Beyond the Industrial Gears", I delve into the spiritual and ecological exhaustion of the modern world, yet I also aim to shine a light on hope. I've integrated single-color stencil human figures into my artworks; to me, these emotionless figures epitomize individuals ensnared by the gears of the industrial revolution, becoming almost akin to lab rats. Through them, I aim to depict humanity's emotional and spiritual depletion, while highlighting the mechanical monotony that industrial life brings. At the heart of my paintings, a line, reminiscent of a lightning bolt, embodies my transition to an inner awakening. This line isn't just a visual distinction; for me, it marks a conceptual shift, forming a bridge between the mechanized existence and natural life. With this element, I want to suggest that we can indeed transcend the destruction and desensitization that the industrial revolution ushered in, pointing towards a future where humanity and nature might find harmony again. The hue of this line varies from piece to piece in my collection. While it stands as a beacon of hope, it also emphasizes the possibility of awakening and embarking on a new journey. Through my work, I wish to remind viewers of the latent potential within us to mend the fractured bond between humans and nature, championing the vision of a more just and sustainable world. Each artwork I've crafted is my testament to the belief that transformation is always within reach, no matter the circumstances. The "Awakening from the Moment" series, for me, is more than just art; it's a clarion call — a plea for us to transform both our inner world and the world that surrounds us.

Like Charlie Chaplin's 'Modern Times'... An unconditional workforce from the Industrial Revolution to the present. The disconnection between industry and people, the break between people and nature, and the destruction of both by industry. An unquestioned authority and lives revolving around like lab rats. In my works, isolated individuals and a vanishing world dominate. Unfortunately, the world I oppose in my works is also the world I exist in; it reflects my anxieties, my unhappiness, my loneliness and the emptiness I receive in return for unlimited effort. There is a resonance with Spinoza's concept of Conatus, with the discovery of isolated individuals, the disappearance of the world, and the emptiness of constant work. Just as Spinoza suggests that there is an inner existence and striving for well-being in all beings, the disconnection and dehumanization depicted in the work echoes the consequences of a world driven only by industrial forces. The struggle for existence at the individual and collective level is integrated in the web of social structures and power dynamics. My work highlights the need to reflect on the impact of this disconnection on the human psyche and to regain and nurture a fundamental drive for connection, well-being, and harmony with nature.
