Minimalist painting dominated by babyblue and red. It is part of a new series called "Variations for Spring", a series of paintings using scrape and scratch techniques with leftover paint through vibrating lively colours. Small paintings are the perfect collection starter. Imagine curating your own art collection as a means of personal expression to reflect your individual personality or spirit. I use professional grade acrylics with high quality color pigments. This painting is finished with two coats of satin varnish to enhance the intensity, transparency and luminosity of colours and to protect the artwork from UV rays and dust. The painting continues onto the edges of the canvas, creating a finished look so the canvas does not require a frame. My art focuses on texture and abstract color(-field) compositions. Most based on traditional media and techniques, such as canvas painted with acrylic and mixed media. The works reflect my attitude of life and of painting 'sometimes less is more'. I am really impressed by the art of Mark Rothko, Gerhard Richter, Pierre Soulages, Hur Kyung-Ae, Christian Hetzel and Judit Reigl. Creativity in the form of drawing and later expressed through painting was already manifested during my childhood. Although I was directed as child to choose a so called "safe" career that is economics, later I came to understand that this talent of mine was also my life’s calling. I am destined to paint. Large paintings are my favorite, because as I work through the details, an even larger picture emerges. For me each painting is a real discovery.
